No, then reel to reel tape is better. But were they also sold pre-recorded? Because self-recorded music cannot be included in the catalog as far as I'm concerned I am curious about your 8-track cassettes!
René

reel to reel tape (in Dutch so tape recorder tape).
you could go for music band, but that won't be the term people will use in search
and thanks for your addition!

It takes a bit longer than planned to implement the solution with the tracks where you can indicate the artists per track.
That is why I have already set it up that you can record multiple artists for artists.
By the way, we want to come up with a solution where you can enter the composition of a group once and then automatically if The Beatles is entered with a record, you can also find it on McCartney, Lennon etc.

I added “cassette single” and “8-track cassette”.
M.b.t. die reel tapes: only pre-recorded media should be included in this section. Do they have a specific name?

and I would also like to add the “cassette single”. They were only on the market for a short time, but still. I have about 5 of them myself, and I'm probably not the only one.

Hi Rene,
That's right you can describe it but visually is of course even clearer.
No own interpretation.
And the possibility to enlarge your own copies would make a difference
See for sale i feel fine, top right and the ballad also name in middle (jac) with pen if you know you will see it! , X number of times to increase?

So an extra field in your own collection specifically for Music. I have to discuss with Marco whether this is feasible. You can of course already enter this further breakdown of the condition in the Own notes field.

Sorry for late response.
The intention is to make the tracks individually inputable and to link the artist to them. This way several artists are possible.
In itself, the most important thing to do here is to convert everything that is already in the music database. We will get to work on this asap.

I thought this was planned, in the same way that an extra author can be added to comics. Rene / Marco, is anything known about this? I want to enter my compilation albums :-)

It is often thought that a collection is automatically insured under the home contents insurance. However, this is often not the case. Certainly not when it comes to a valuable collection.
That is why it is interesting that Catawiki works with an insurance broker that specializes in insuring art and collections. This intermediary can give you independent advice about your collection in relation to the coverage of your home contents insurance. And about the possibilities of taking out a specific Collective Insurance. If you fill in this form , an agent of the intermediary will contact you to discuss your specific situation.
Insurers often require you to map out your collection. That is of course already possible with Catawiki.
Fill in the form immediately at www.catawiki.nl/verzekering

New category seems like a good idea, but what do you do with 1 DVD with 1 CD or 2 DVD with 1 CD? Also new categories?

this type of release has been common lately. do we classify this under DVD, 2 CD, 3 CD or a new category? I advocate the latter.

I would like to be able to enter the condition of the cover and the condition of the vinyl separately.
Hopefully there are more people with me who want this, and the administrators are willing to add this option

calypso
salsa
Swing
would also be welcome categories.
I have quite a few records that I can't assign a genre right now :-(

Yep. I miss that too. Until now I have taken care of this by specifying under artist: Various artists and by specifying which artists participate. But that is still a solution.
Now I come to a number of records where one artist completes the first side of the record and the other the second ...
I do not know whether that can be solved technically, because separate artists form the basis of Catawiki.
Perhaps René and Marco have ideas about this…

Hello
I would also like to see the tracks become a mandatory field. Now you see a lot of albums and singles in the list without the tracks being filled in.
and with singles the a and b side
Don't know if there is already an appointment list! and if so, where to consult.
greetings Dick

Would it be an idea to add the 8-track cassette to the media?
and the reel to reel tape (tapes for tape recorder, if not pre-recorded)?

I would like to have some more options in the genre of music.
For example, what I still miss are:
Rock 'n roll
Progesive Rock
Symphonic Rock
Psychedelic Rock
Compilation album
Disco
Nederbeat
and there are probably more.
who knows another addition?

Release number does not necessarily have to be the barcode. I started from vinyl and not CDs. With vinyl there is quite a bit of information in it. For example, if I look at the Beatles album Sgt Pepper you see that the original first releases had release number PMC 7027 for the mono version and PCS 7027 for the stereo. Released again in the early 1970s, but with a red label. The versions that appeared in the late 1970s can be recognized by the number 5C 062 -04177 and the 1980s issues at 1A 062-04177.
As for CDs: Many of them mention this and are part of the barcode. Sometimes not: an example is Stranger in my house by Cyril Lance. Barcode is 3448969242623 and the release number is DFGCD 8558 . Self-released CDs often also have a release number. For example, I have some CDs from the Belgian group De Nieuwe Snaar. They have the number Snaarplaat 02 or Snaarplaat 03. You could also enter them as the release number.
In short: if there is really no track on a CD outside the barcode, then I would go for the barcode; in any other case the extra number.
