In the past you had stickers that did their job: stick. Nowadays you have price stickers that are fortunately less sticky

Yes, electricity also costs money.
But everyone looks at it for themselves.
How much does the cheapest can of Zippo cost?
My comic book dealer always delivers albums without a sticker.
Have I ever bought a new comic in a physical store with a sticker?
First job when you get home - remove the sticker and that is very easy without any tools.
For those few second-hand strips I use the hairdryer.
And it's also a bit of art; the first time the result was nothing to write home about.
There was some noise, yes, but with the Zippo there is the smell...
And that's how it always is...

The foil for the outer layers quickly bubbles even with a hairdryer. Be careful with that. By the way, Buizer: costs KWh and nothing? A can of Zippo lasts 2 years.

You cannot prevent a collector/seller/owner from writing a name in an album.
Nor do you place/affix a stamp.
Just like you can't ban price stickers.
But rest assured: this will not happen with valuable and antiquarian comics.
And as long as you don't sell comics as a youngster, you ignore the fact that writing names in comics reduces the value.
But usually you only find out when you start selling/buying second-hand comics...

If you have a hairdryer/handheld hairdryer at home, why spend money on petrol and other remedies?
Know that warmth is always an enemy of glue (products).
Just ask philatelists and beer label collectors.

I use Zippo lighter gasoline. Soak it thoroughly and start with a sharp knife and then peel it off. Also works with very old stickers. But: patience is a virtue.

I remove stubborn stickers with gasoline. Place a cotton pad on the sticker enough that it softens, you can then rub off the sticker and line residue. Please note that with older books there may be a color difference under the sticker,
The gasoline evaporates quickly so be careful with fire.
This is how we do bookbinding restoration.

To answer the original question:
An album in new condition may only have stickers applied to it by the publisher.
An album with a price sticker from the retailer is by definition no longer new, and yes, that has a negative impact on the collector's value.
If you're lucky, it can be restored to new condition by removing the price sticker without any consequential damage. If that doesn't work, you have a damaged album.
A serious online seller will always mention a price sticker on a second-hand album.

I use TEC7 Cleaner for comic albums with a plasticized cover (glossy cover). This comes in a spray can and is available at the DIY store. Apply this spray to a soft cloth and gently remove the paper label and then the remaining adhesive residue. And this works for me in most cases, of course this can also go wrong once in a while.

IJZERBROOD ,
Most stickers can be removed quite easily by heating them with, for example, a hairdryer or an iron.

IJZERBROOD
A new strip delivered to the store does not have a price label.
Now the retailer puts a price sticker on it for practical reasons.
At least for me they always come off straight away; new or second hand doesn't matter.
The longer the stickers are on, the more difficult they are to remove.
And it disfigures.
And where do they sometimes stick the sticker?
And then there is a difference in the stickers themselves.
One sticks 'harder/better' than another.
And of course it also depends on what requirements you place on a comic...
For example, I know people who combine a sanitary visit with reading comics.
They don't care that there is a sticker on it.
Others collect comics and read them, for example, once. And into the closet.
Or don't read the comic at all. And into the closet.
It just depends from person to person what requirements you place on a comic.

I regularly find price stickers on second-hand albums that are sometimes impossible to remove without running the risk of damaging the album.
A seller I once messaged about this believes that this is not such a problem since the majority of books in stores have a price sticker. I personally believe that a sticker that can no longer be removed disfigures an album. I would rather not have them on and will explicitly ask for them from now on when I buy second hand again.
What is your opinion about price stickers? Does this detract from the album and affect the quality and value of the album?

You could describe it as a magazine, only in a smaller size of 15x21 cm. The booklets do not contain a comic strip in any case, but are mainly text-oriented with explanatory, accompanying drawings on each page. The booklets are privately published.

#8201513 . And you entered it on August 31, 2020 at 3:34 PM.
And indeed there is no title on it.
Due to misprint.
But again not that difficult.
Use the data that is available or that you know.
Series/hero: Bollie & Billie.
Series or Publisher: Dupuis
Language: Dutch
And it's number 9.
And then work with the filters via the Strips.el section. All necessary information is on the item (except for the title). You can also work with the 'filters'.
> Comic book catalogue
> Bollie & Billie
> click on All
> click the filters Dutch (language), Dupuis (publisher), Album (type)
> and you know it's a number 9.
And if not, get it through G....e l..s.
Do you immediately know the title?
