Catalogue information
The weekly Spirou is canceled by the occupier because of Dupuis's refusal to conform to the new rules. On September 2, 1943, the last issue of the magazine is published, which has barely 8 pages. No one knows if the magazine will ever appear again. The artists are obliged to put an end to the current stories very quickly: Jan Kordaat (plate 101), Christopher Columbus (plate 36), Spirou, Beard and Bald, the Red rider, Kite Bob and the Blue Sparrowhawk (Plate 59 ). The stories continue in the Spirou Youth Album. This attempt by Dupuis to get around the ban was really just a continuation under a different name. This youth album was the September issue. The issue for October was announced here but has never been released. Weekblad 241 (October 1944) picks up the thread again.
