Each shipping company has different price levels in the different countries. Highly dependent on the competitive position. In the Netherlands and Belgium, for shipping abroad, the rates are unfortunately very high, partly due to the enormous rise of e-commerce in recent years.
When ordering abroad, it is highly recommended to ask for a quote first.

As a buyer you can estimate what the shipping costs will be.

That is why I avoid shops where the country is not entered in the profile.

Then you can don't estimate shipping costs at all.
LD should check if the country is filled in when opening a shop.
Participate anonymously and incognito, ride the stream, all well and good. But when you start a shop, that must be known as a minimum. Also for the buyers.

I personally wouldn't buy anything from a seller whose country is not indicated. Is unreliable to me. So sellers, indicate the country you are from and maybe you will sell more.

As a seller you can of course also state the shipping costs in your shop, so that buyers are NOT faced with any surprises. Then there are no big discussions about the shipping costs afterwards.

I have also, to date, received 1 negative feedback from a Dutchman who thought the postage costs were too high. I even offered him a cheaper way but in vain;
He didn't want to buy anymore But I do have a negative feedback on my leg which is very unjust, unfair and so I also want you to change this to neutral. Thanks in advance;

Additional question; how long can (or should) you give feedback after a purchase!?

I think an order without feedback will always remain open, waiting for the feedback.
In the current system, the buyer must first set the status to 'Received'.
There is a danger here.
For example, I have one open if I haven't received it yet. The contents had been stolen by the French postal service. I had only received the empty (torn open) cover packed in a plastic bag. With a note from the French Post with their apologies. An order from more than a year ago, and it's still open.
If I had it in my head to indicate 'Received' after all this time, I could hand out a red dot. I won't. With that torn cover, I'm sure the seller has done the necessary, and he can't do anything about it.
But there are sometimes weird quibbles among the buyers, who could get something like this in their heads.
VAT: a user who gives negative feedback on his first feedback, to someone who has only received 170 positive feedback ... that says a lot about the giver. Your response to the feedback was appropriate, correct and clear.
But I see that fortunately it no longer turns red in the meantime.

Wouldn't it be safe to place an order, after a certain period (6 months eg), to be blocked for status changes and/or feedback?
A 'sword of Damocles' that can come down after years will cause problems sooner or later.

Bought a nice ex-libris from Soda a few weeks ago for 5 euros. Shipping costs 9.95 euros. If you can't stand that, I think you should not participate in the auction.

Strange, that seems demonstrably incorrect to me: I have recently received feedback from people who have not indicated 'received'.

Agree. On eBay, I've had a returning customer never leave feedback. With a next lot won, he wanted to negotiate a discount. Between the lines, he hinted that he hadn't posted any feedback on the previous auctions yet.

thorgal57  Agree, provided (a) this is clear in advance (and you can decide whether or not to buy / bid) and (b) that shipping costs are actually incurred. If in reality the sender has put up stamps for 3 euros, you will still feel cheated, won't you?

After sending by the seller, a buyer can immediately provide feedback if he has set the status to "Received". If he doesn't set that to "Received", the buyer will automatically receive a request for feedback a few days after sending.
