The FDC depicts what appears to be a pair of Macquarie Island Shags with eggs apparent under the left-most bird. The five stamps depict: 1. a Light-mantled Albatross (Phoebetria palpebrata) in flight with clouds behind. 2. a pair of Macquarie Island Shags (Phalacrocorax albiventer purpurasce) erect on a rocky outcrop. 3. a group of Southern Elephant Seal (Mirounga leonina) on rocks. 4. a pair of Royal Penguin (Eudyptes schlegeli) with shrubbery behind. 5. an Antarctic Prion (Pachyptila desolata) in flight over water.
