Details
Also known as "espionage stamp". During the war years the British Ministry of War is said to have produced a forgery of the 1½ cent gray with Waterloo and Sons Ltd. in London. This stamp has supposedly been used for intelligence purposes. This (official?) forgery does not have a watermark and has perforation 11. After the war, unused stamps were brought onto the market. There's no record of a used stamp.
