A critical comment, though.
Is it 100% sure that because there are no items with SPECIMEN in the SG-2015, there are no such stamps at all? Is the SG infallible in this area?

It is not S.G. who made a mistake.
They clearly write in the preface,(unfortunately many collectors hardly
ever read that),that they list only a limited selection of specimen-stamps.
So if a particular one is not listed,it nevertheless may well exist.
This is true for the vast majority of all specimen-stamps !

Hello Tammo, Raoul and Salentin, Of course I don't know which SG you use, but when you consult the 6 volume (5000+pages) STAMPS OF THE WORLD, there is no mention of SPECIMEN there. I use the SG Commomwealth & British Empire Stamps 1840-1970, the special SG of Brunei,Malaysia & Singapore and the special catalog from Malaysia by Steven Tan. In these SG's the SPECIMEN's are mentioned eg Brunei 23/33 PF 200,- Specimen 300,- Straits Settlements 49 PF 550,- Specimen 1000,- I think after 1950 stamps with overprint Specimen are no longer issued except by countries that stamps purely for commercial publishing. See in the LastDodo cat. e.g. to Kiribati, stamps for the thematic collectors: normal, with Specimen overprint, Official overprint, CTO stamped etc. Sorry, but you can't take this seriously, especially since you can find these stamps in all forms in the 5 cent stock books of the find local associations.

I see that something went wrong after posting, there are blank spots in the text, the text is complete.

When you run the catalog of StanleyGibbons “Commonwealth & British Empire Stamps 1840-1970” on page xxix you can read the following under the heading “7. Specimen Stamps":

You are right when you say that Specimen stamps are mentioned in the catalogue, but it doesn’t mean that all Specimen stamps are mentioned.
Let's be careful!
In this case, the overprint is not reflected in the above examples (the “S” of SPECIMEN” is a special S and doesn't appear amongst the examples).
It may mean that the stamp could be false, but perhaps not. An expert in this matter should be able to deliver the right answer.

On page xiv of the SG catalog British Commonwealth 2000 (2 volumes) you will find exactly the same text as posted by Loriot, with some additions that are not relevant to the discussion.

This text in the SG is known to me. It is not only the S that is special in the stamps of Bawahalpur, but the whole combination of letters, for example, the P, the I and the round C and then the shifted almost double upside-down overprint. become a very expensive stamp. To know for sure you will have to send them to SG.

According to Wikipedia, “Specimen” on stamps means the following:

“a specimen overprint or stamp means: the stamp is NOT intended to be used on a postal item”

Indeed. In Spanish speaking areas you will often find the imprint "ULTRAMAR" with the same meaning. It is an "exemplary function" of existing franking stamps for foreign countries, which were made invalid for franking by the overprint as a precaution and could not be exchanged for money at the post office (as was the case in the early days). A measure to take the wind out of the sails of overly smart postal workers.

Very interesting ! I didn´t know that "ultramar",what means "overseas" was
used as overprints for specimen.
More common is "muestra",like in German also "Muster".
