In the same issue, but with usage type 'Service', type 'Specimen'.

Until someone wants to make separate issues, per stamp, with 'face value', 'specimen', 'color' and 'Service' in the issue name...
For users who have not yet discovered the 'filters' (on the left side of the screen) . Each item has its own issue (just kidding).

The type I want to enter is also franking and not service, or is there another explanation?

Uh, the print at Baha is service I thought ... but it could be a different print that I have in mind. If only someone could read Bahawalpurese and tell us what those graceful curls mean :)
It may also be that the imprint is in Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto or Sindhi. All look alike… and are all Chinese to me.

It is in 'Urdu' according to Michel.
Unissued service stamps (red overprint)?
Should read as 'SARKARI (service) if you could read Urdu.

Ah, not the overprinted stamps... I get it. Reading confusion.
'imprint' refers to 'specimen'.
That's it 'Frankeer', with kind of 'Specimen'.

It was wrong in my head when reading 'imprint':

And messages sometimes cross each other. My 9:14 post was made before your 9:13 post rolled in here.

I was busy with another grim case at the same time ... from a certain age multitasking is no longer so obvious ;)

Just keep calm, Raoul. That ultimately works best. Is that perhaps the 1½ Annas service overprint?

These stamps from Bawahalpur have never been issued with SPECIMEN overprint.
This font has also never been used as an overprint SPECIMEN, so I think: fake.

And we don't have a kind of 'Fake' (yet).
Is that the same as most 'Cinderellas'? They are also fake (and illegal).
Except in Romania and the Scandinavian countries. Because there are really items that are Cinderella in the area with the addition of ' - Cinderella' in the name.
mart47
How do you actually find out whether or not stamps have also been created with 'Specimen'?

The Stanley Gibbons indicates for each stamp in the catalog which Commonwealth stamp has been issued with overprint or perfin SPECIMEN and a rubric which typefaces and shape of perfins have been used.

I would find it interesting if the type "fake" or "bogus" is created. There are people who collect this kind of stuff (whether or not as a reference) and in some catalogs there is a separate price list for "fake". Oh and then also a kind of "dubious", in case the specialists don't know either.

Counterfeits may not be sold on LD, so a restriction will have to be programmed for such a species in any case.

stripspeldjes the background of that policy is still not entirely clear to me. It is allowed to sell "Cinderellas" of which the postal service has recently explicitly indicated that they are illegal issues, but a philatelic overprint of 100 years ago is not allowed.

There are areas where almost 80% of the stamps from a certain period are counterfeit. The better counterfeits are only recognized by a few specialists in the world. Should we then impose an area ban? Because even the above average buyer and seller don't recognize it.

Bogus editions in which someone has made up an imprint and produced it in numbers is allowed, because those are nothing but Cinderellas, right? In the definition, the difference between bogus and counterfeit is clear. In the first case, someone deliberately creates an extra variant to create sales. In the second case, an attempt is made to copy something that already exists. In practice, the difference turns out to be difficult to distinguish.

Will be strange if fake or bonus is created while legal personal stamps are not allowed in another topic.

It's starting to dawn ... it's getting a little light (twilight) :)

My verdict (and you don't have to agree):

[1] Illegal (most Cinderellas, especially from African countries) should be classified as such, WITH a barrier to their being offered/traded. This way you avoid problems.
By showing them anyway (yes, in the catalogue), but clearly recognisable, you help the collector. Not by elevating them to Cinderella and facilitating the trade in those illegal pieces.

[2] Old junk forgeries are collectable, in a separate collecting area.
There are studies, books, catalogs and collectors of this particular obscure area. Trading old junk counterfeits is allowed if it was clearly stated in the description.
In detail I do not know to which period 'old stuff' is counted. It's not my specialty.
As long as there is no separate collectors corner for them (a section) they are not welcome on LD.

[3] New forgeries (eg appropriating a stamp with added value by manufacturing an overprint or cancellation outside the normal - official - circuit) are attempts at fraud. That is punishable (prison sentences). Trading such objects is punishable by law. Whether you have crafted yourself or (ignorantly) buy and sell. Once convicted there is no better treatment or separate institution for those who made them and those they trafficked. "I didn't know" is a valid excuse.

[4] Real Cinderellas are a nice and beautiful side phenomenon in the collecting area of philately. LD should take the negativity away from it. Now that term is heavily loaded with illegal scam that it is no longer beautiful. In other words, on LD it is a cover for illegal items, and trade in illegal objects. That is not only against all the rules and deontology of collecting and more specifically here of philately. It's also illegal . Those who do not understand the word: illegal = what is not legally allowed, and for which you can be fined and/or interned.

Just like you can be fined if you drive a car at 70 km / h through a zone 30. It's not allowed. If you get caught, you get the consequences. "I didn't know" won't help you.
Just like you are cut short for a while when you arrive at the airport with a suitcase in which drugs are found. There, too, 'I didn't know' will not protect you from the consequences.
Prisons are full of 'innocents'.

Raoul62 I like your suggestion, but wouldn't it make more sense to put collectible counterfeits under stamps, but in a "separate" area just like we do with Cinderella's now?
Eg "Ukraine", "Ukraine - Cinderella", "Ukraine - Counterfeits". The latter category would also fit stamps from World War II, which were made for intelligence/espionage networks.

I also find it a bit difficult where the border should be. Stamps from the Russian civil war period 1918-1923 are allowed. The ones from the second world war too. Counterfeits of Ukrainian tridents from 1992? I doubt, but that was already 30 years ago and the amount of unprinted sheets that can serve as a basis for a false imprint will have shrunk considerably.

My aversion to Cinderella's indeed relates to modern editions a la "Princess Diana", "Race cars" etc. Cinderella's . Older Cinderellas have often acquired historical significance: "Cinderellas with a story".

Real cinderellas have nothing to do with age.
The 'modern' you mean are not cinderellas. They are illegal issues ('Bogus').

Counterfeits is a very special and separate collecting area. Now they are not allowed on LD. Not the new one, not the old one.
Tridents from 1992 are not old stuff, and are therefore just as much 'illegal' (bogus) issues as the others. Although those items have nothing to do with Cinderella's, they are dropped and allowed on LD in an area with '- Cinderella's' added to the area name.

mart47 ,are you sure about that, namely that the shown overprint is
faked ?
My "latest" S.G. Br.Commonwealth cat. is 1989 issue. The chapter in the
preface of it,regarding "specimen" overprints does mention that there
are many more such overprints, than illustrated and listed in the
catalogue.
So unless you have a S.G. what is more detailed, concerning such overprints
on the stamps of Bahawalpur, how do you come to the conclusion, that
the shown overprint is a faked one ?
