Sometimes 78 rpm records were made from other materials, such as vinyl or the plastic Durium

~ 78-rpm record

Additional information:

The Durium plates were made of cardboard with an acetate layer in which the groove was pressed.

The end of the song is that vulture gold search NEVER added the promised records, which was already clear at the time of the discussion

well a bit too late (of course the internet has changed somewhat over time).
For what it's worth:

BEETHOVEN: Concerto No.4 in G major Op.58
London Philharmonic Orchestra
Sir Malcolm Sargent, conductor
HMV recording 78: HMV DB 1886/9 in A-181
2B 4132/9 DB 7340/3
Abbey Road Studios, lon & lt; bn RCA 7661/4 in M-156
Feb 16 1933 7665/8 in AM-156
16586/9 in DM-156

(always good practice to get search engines to find weird things).

That was exactly the question ...

to which we still have no answer after 5 years ...

Correct @Bookmagazijn,
sarl was pretty good (about 10 euros) with the estimate ..
comparable sets (these?) do at auction with a good bid max 15 pounds. Didn't find anything else ... ;-) Apparently more popular in UK.

It wasn't me ....

The value of this object was never an unanswerable question. But I thought and think that we should not help passers-by (read: stingy gold diggers).

In my opinion, people should buy items because they like or interesting them. And not because the object might be worth something and then have the object appraised by other people. I really don't feel like helping these kind of scrapers. They are actually ruining the market for the enthusiasts.

But I am always willing to think along with valuations or other issues of fellow users. Keep in mind that nowadays valuation is often nothing more than sensible use of search engines.

Next you have to interpret the data found. Some experience can be an advantage.
