• Part of the Belgian Coincard Catalog. Never before has original historical Belgian currency been issued in a coin card! It takes the honor of a very special 1 franc coin. The 1 franc 1950-1988 in both language variants in a four-language coin card is now available! The 1 Franc Belgium 1950-1988 is one of the few coins that has not changed its design during its 38-year career AND has circulated under no fewer than two regents: Prince Charles and King Baudouin I. This coin has also been issued in both mint and medal battle! It was also the last 1 Franc coin in Belgium to be issued without the portrait of the reigning monarch. It has also been published, according to good practice, in a Flemish (1 Franc Belgium) and a French-language variant (1 Franc Belgique). The coin, designed by Marcel Rau, depicts Ceres (Roman goddess of agriculture) and the Cornucopia on the obverse. Here the year is shown between two four-pointed stars and the name of the designer RAU. The reverse shows 1 Fr with a crowned oak leaf in between. Below it it says: = BELGIUM = and on the French version: = BELGIQUE =. The coin has no mint master or mint house mark.
