Details
In 1946 the occupation money was introduced for the Belgian occupation troops in Germany. There were banknotes of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 francs. This could only be used to make purchases in the institutions of the BBL. During a leave in Belgium, this actually worthless money could be exchanged at the border for the usual Belgian money.
