Details

A small species of Laevisrombus. Occurs in Australia, Solomon and New Caledonia. The specimens from New Caledonia grow larger, to 45 - 50 mm, while the shells from Australia and Solomon barely reach 30 - 35 mm. The species is easily recognized by its shell shape. The pattern also continues on the ventral side (Which is not the case in canarium and liveranii) The drawing shown is the original illustration from Quoy & Gaimard (1834)
