Dummy trial stamps produced by De La Rue in exactly the same format as the 2001 Christmas Robin stamps for distribution to postmasters to give them a taste of what was to come.
It appeared that a slightly different technique was required for the removal of self-adhesive stamps from a sheet.
This was to ensure that transaction times and spoilage of the Christmas stamp stock was kept to a minimun
