Details
The Holly roman emperor Henry VII donated to Amedee V the seigniory of Asti and Ivrea in Italy and on 1306 he acquired the castle Yvoire.
Then on 1315, the fleet of Amédée V "the great" delivered Rhodes beleaguered by the Ottomans.
After this glorious expedition, F.E.R.T. became a common Savoy Motto and Latin Acronym:
- Fortitudo ejus Rhodum tenuit (his courage saved Rhodes), or possibly
- Foedere et Religione Tenemur (we are bound by treaty and by religion)
