Picture book with hand-colored lithographs and text (112 five-line stanzas in rhyme), about Jan Klaassen. The reverse of the pages is unprinted The year 1859 is stated on the cover under the publisher. In 1864 a second edition appeared (see in the catalog under Strips) with slightly different coloring (eg the 2 coats on p.1 are yellow-red striped in 1st edition, and yellow in 2nd edition 1864). Lithographs printed at Emrik & Binger, Haarlem. Info KB et al .: 7 illustrations are original by Bertall (p.16-22), the remaining 16 are probably by J.W.A. Hilverdink. Bertall's illustrations come from the book "Vie de Polichinelle et ses nombreuses aventures" by Octave Feuillet (1846), which consisted of 111 pages.
