The 32 chess pieces are inspired by images from the Tutankhamun era.
The metal chess pieces are fantastic nicely detailed and heavily plated with gold 24karaat.
The pedestals are hand-painted enamel in shades of black and ivory.
These pieces have a protective top layer which ensures that there is never stop, and / or discoloration can occur.
The frame of the board is of hardwood, finished with accents in black ebony, and "held up" by four holy guardians of the tomb. These are also highly detailed represented and gilded with gold 24karaat. (One of them has been repaired but this is barely visible)
On all sides is original text written in Egyptian hieroglyphs meaning in Dutch "chess of Tutankhamun".
The playing field is made of ebony and rosewood.
The chessboard has a size of 41cm by 41cm.
The total height is 35cm.
