For the first time in 1822 in the penal colony at the Ommerschans (Overijssel), later also elsewhere. Maatschappij van weldadigheid: Voornamelijk om het kopen van sterke drank te beletten, heeft men in de verschillende gestichten van de vereniging "Maatschappij van weldadigheid" eigen geld ingevoerd. Voor het eerst in 1822 in de strafkolonie aan de Ommerschans (Overijssel), later ook elders.
