Original cartoon in pencil on Windsor & Newton’s drawing board under the pseudonym “Silenus”, probably for The Daily Sketch, around 1950, shows two workmen on a building site incongruously discussing the merits of a Roman coin one of them has discovered. Card size 26 x 21.5 cm, image size 20 x 14.5 cm, signed lower left, caption written in ink in lower border; an original caption has been covered with a strip of paper. In very good condition.
