Jaap Gidding is perhaps the only real art deco artist that the Netherlands has produced. And also the most versatile designer from the 1920s and 1930s in the Netherlands. For the first time, a retrospective of his work was organized from January 21 to March 16, 2006. The best-preserved highlight of his oeuvre is the hall of Theater Tuschinski (1921) in Amsterdam.
