Ice hockey club Smoke Eaters Geleen was founded in 1968. Nickname "the eternal second". Between 1985 and 1995 they were vice-champion seven times and cup finalist five times. De Eaters wonnen de Nederlandse beker in 1993 en 2010. In 2012 behaalde men de eerste Landstitel, door in de alles beslissende wedstrijd in en tegen HYS the Hague met 1-7 te winnen!
