Original newspaper illustration in red and black ink on heavyweight paper for publication in a newspaper or magazine, probably in the 1960s. For 53 years, from age 19 until his death in 2001, Opland drew caricatures and political cartoons for De Volkskrant and De Groene Amsterdammer. Card and image size 33 x 25 cm (12.75 x 10 inch), signed lower right, caption in pencil in lower border and on verso. Also signed and stamped on verso by Murray A. Harris, who was a well known collector of graphic art in California. Still with protective sheet, and in very good condition.
