Portrait of Laurens Real (1583-1637), half-length. He wears a hat, mill collar and chain. On the left in the background a hilly landscape with palm trees. On the plinth are his coat of arms with a motto in Latin and his name and function in Dutch. Reaal was a Dutch director and governor-general of the Dutch East India Company (VOC).
