Portrait bust within oval of Bernard Nieuwentijt (1654-1718). At the bottom of his name. Nieuwentijt was a Dutch physician, philosopher and mathematician. He is also one of the most important Dutch authors from the Enlightenment and is considered the founder of physical theology in the Netherlands.
