Portrait bust within oval of Petrus Wesseling (1692-1764). To the oval the title in Latin. Below on a pedestal a 4-line verse in Latin by Abraham Wieling. In the foreground is a putto writing with a quill pen. Around him various books, tokens and an inkwell. Wesseling sent to Leiden, among other places. In 1718 he became proponent and prorector at the gymnasium in Middelburg. In 1723 he became professor of history in Franeker. In 1735 he became a professor in Utrecht. Etching and engraving by Pieter Tanjé (1706-1761), after the painting by Jan Maurits Quinkhard (1688-1772). Published in Amsterdam by Isaak Tirion in 1744. Signed and dated in print.
