Portrait of Marcus Zuerius van Boxhorn (1612-1653), professor of oratory at the University of Leiden, at the age of 28. Below the portrait an eight-line verse in Latin by Adriaan Hoffer. Boxhorn studied in Leiden. He wrote Latin poems and commentaries on Roman works.
