Portrait of Christoffel van Swol (1668-1718), half-length. He is holding a command staff in his right hand and his left hand behind his back. On the plinth are his coat of arms and name and function in Dutch. Van Swol was Governor General of the Dutch East Indies. Etching and engraving by Dirk Jongman (1684 / 1685-1726), after Matthijs Balen (1684-1766). Signed in print. Used as an illustration in: François Valentyn.
