Original editorial cartoon on card in pen, brush and ink, published in the Toledo Blade, 1985, shows Soviet leader Gorbachev and president Ronald Reagan negotiating SALT II (Strategic Arms Limitation Talks). Gorbachev: ‘Great day in the morning! I rolled triple sixes again! That means I can deploy any missiles I want and it’s still my turn.’ Reagan is holding ‘The Salt II Game Rules’ and wondering if ‘there must be something in here that says I can cheat as much as he can’. The SALT talks are seen as a game which Reagan does not seem to be particularly good at. Card size 35 x 25 cm (14 x 10 inch), image size 33 x 22 cm, signed and dated in lower right corner. Printing instructions in lower border include date: 6/12/85. In excellent condition.
