Original editorial cartoon on card in pencil, published in the New York Journal, 1956, shows Uncle Sam’s muscular arm holding weapons such as sidewinder missiles on Armed Forces Day, May 16, (later Veterans Day) with an army parade in the background. Supports the notion that the best way to avoid war is to be well prepared for it. Card size 31 x 24 cm (11 x 10 inch), image size 22.5 x 21 cm, caption in pencil on upper border, printing instructions on lower border, signed lower right. In excellent condition.
