Portrait bust to the right inside octagon of Francesco I d’Este, Duke of Modena (1610-1658). Decorations around it. After the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War, he joined Spain and invaded the Duchy of Parma. Later he took part in the Wars of Castro, in which Francesco signed a treaty with Venice, Parma and Florence against Pope Urban VIII, with the aim of reclaiming Ferrara from the Papal state.
