Portrait bust to the left inside oval of Simon Bisschop, also known as: Simon Episcopius (1583-1643). Episcopius was a Dutch Protestant theologian and professor of the Remonstrant school. He was one of the most important spokespersons in this direction after the death of Jacobus Arminius.
