Original two-panel editorial cartoon on card in pen and ink with blue crayon, 1970, published in the Orlando Star, shows the ‘Batista dictatorship’ under fire in 1959, resulting in Castro taking power in Cuba, and the ‘Castro dictatorship’ under fire in 1970. Castro admitted in a speech in 1970 that the government had failed to meet its economic objectives, and perhaps the cartoonist believes this will encourage anti-Castro dissident groups to drive Castro from power. Card size 28.5 x 22 cm, image size 24 x 19 cm, caption in bottom border, signed and dated lower right. In very good condition.
