Original editorial cartoon on card in pen and ink, around 1935, possibly published in the Syracuse Herald, shows the ‘American Eagle’ dodging rocks symbolizing problems which beset the United States in the 1930s: ‘racial prejudice’, ‘mob hysteria’, ‘communistic tendencies’ and ‘strike fomenters’. Card size 35 x 33.5 cm, image size 31 x 29 cm, signed bottom right. In very good condition.
