Original political cartoon done on card in pen, brush and ink with blue crayon for the British Ministry of Information, around 1942, shows Pierre Laval, by 1942 head of the Vichy government in France, trying to get swastikas out of his hair as if they were dandruff or head lice, with the caption ‘No wonder I get filthy if I sleep with dogs’, referring to his collaboration with the German occupiers of his country. Overall card size of 51 x 34 cm, image size 36 x 25 cm. Typed caption pasted on bottom centre and right, with printing instructions. Signed top right. In very good condition.
