Portrait bust to the right of Kaspar Hauser (1812 (allegedly) - 1833). Hauser was a German foundling of unclear origin. On Whit Monday (May 26, 1828) he turned up in the streets of Nuremberg as a neglected 16-year-old boy. He said he had lived in a small dungeon all his life before, without contact with the outside world. Hauser then had an eventful life. He was in the public eye because of his alleged high nobility. He survived an attack in 1829, but died of injuries from a second attack in 1833. To date, there is still no conclusive evidence about his identity. Steel engraving, signed in print F. wagner sc. Manufactured around 1850.
