Original editorial cartoon drawing in pen and ink on board, published in the N.Y. Post, Philadelphia Record and Chicago Tribune in May or June 1940. Shows Hitler on his way to Paris following the German invasion of France in May 1940. He is standing among thousands of dead young German soldiers, there is blood dripping from his hands as he surveys how much further it is to Paris. Burned out houses in the background as well as vultures circling above. Suggesting major losses (not really true) and totally uncaring attitude of Hitler (probably true). Board size 46 x 38 cm (18 x 15 inch), image size 38 x 35 cm. Framed and matted, in excellent condition.
