Oval portrait bust of the Lutheran missionary in India Bartholomäus Ziegenbalg (1682-1719), with the title in Latin on the pedestal. Ziegenbalg sent to Halle. Under the patronage of Frederick IV of Denmark, he and his fellow student Plütschau went to the Danish colony of Tranquebar in 1706, making them the first Protestant missionaries in India. Ovale portretbuste van de Lutherse zendeling in India Bartholomäus Ziegenbalg (1682-1719), met op voetstuk de titel in het Latijn. Ziegenbalg stuurde te Halle. Onder de bescherming van Frederik IV van Denemarken ging hij met zijn medestudent Plütschau naar de Deense kolonie Tranquebar in 1706. Daarmee waren ze de eerste Protestantse missionarissen in India.
