Original pen and ink/pencil/crayon editorial cartoon drawing on art card, 1951 published in the Christian Science Monitor. Shows ‘Home Front Bickering’ among the ‘American people’, encouraged by ‘Moscow’. This bickering combined with ‘Dissension’ and ‘Politics’, shown as shells, are being presented as ‘ammunition’ to Moscow which is only too glad to receive it. This bickering can only be to the advantage of the Soviets which they can use as ‘ammunition’ in the potentially explosive situation in the Cold War context at the time of the Korean War. Dated on verso: April 25, 1951. Signed lower right corner, card size 36 x 29 cm, image size: 29 x 24.5 cm. Very good condition.
