Details

Eindhoven IJsbrekers was founded in 2003 by ex-Kemphanen players. The club subsequently merged into the then re-established Eindhoven Kemphanen in 2009. Kemphanen Eindhoven was founded in 1970. In the 1974-1975 season they won the Play Offs for the championship of the 2nd division, opponent was IJ.H.C. Triantha Assen. A year later, in 1976, the Kemphanen won the 2nd division Play Offs 2-0, the other finalist was again IJ.H.C. Triantha Assen. In 1985-1986 the club won the Dutch Cup. Between 1998 and 2008 the Kemphanen were inactive. A new ice hockey club, the Eindhoven IJsbrekers, founded by Ex-Kemphanen, was then active at youth and amateur level. In 2008, the Kemphanen was re-established and the Eindhoven Icebreakers merged into the new Kemphanen. From the 2008-2009 season up to and including the 2017-2018 season, the Kemphanen were active in the Eredivisie, and later in the BeNe-League. In the 2018-2019 season they won the title in the 1st division by beating GIJS Groningen in the final round with resp. 9-0 and 6-2. (updated until season 2021). The ice hockey pin was probably issued in 2004.
