The Code Talkers Recognition Act of 2008 (Public Law 110-420) authorized the United States Mint to strike and issue medals to provide the recognition deserved by Native American Code Talkers for their dedication and valor in World Wars I and II. This medal is a bronze duplicate of the Congressional Gold Medal awarded to Native American Code Talkers at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building on November 20, 2013, in recognition of their dedication and valor.
