Belgian author born in Lier on July 5, 1886 and died there on January 24, 1947. Felix Timmermans was uneducated and in the beginning was not good at sentence structure and spelling. He left school at the age of 15, but then took evening classes in drawing school. From the age of 17 he started writing poems that were later collected and published.
