Box (206x132x81mm) is of American origin. Made of cardboard pasted with orange textured paper. The box is an ordinary model with a loose (somewhat repaired) lid. Behind the attached front flap there are four trays for the tiles and one, with four compartments, for counters etc. The lid is printed in black with the Hillson's illustration/logo and the name Ma Chiang. Tiles (21x29x11mm) are made of yellow colored wood. Imprinted on top in one, two or three colors ( red, green and blue). Except for the dragons the characters and images are almost identical to those of Pung Chow. Most likely there belong no spare tiles to the set. Counters are thin strips of shiny celluloid in in dark red, white, light blue and black. They are incomplete. Dice (2x) are made of bone with Western points. Wind indicators are made of bone colored celluloid. There container is made of thin celluloid with French Ivory pattern. Instruction manual is a accompanying booklet Hillson’s Mandarin Game Known in China as Ma Chiang. Only the pictures on the flower tiles (see inside of the cover) are identical of those of the set. There is also a sticker with the division and denomination of the counters. The characters and images on the Hillson's tiles are partly ‘borrowed’ from manufacturers like Piroxloid and Pung Chow. Hillson's uses also different names for their sets.
