Details
Box (180x120x23mm) is of British origin. Made of cardboard covered with black fake-croc paper and printed with golden lettering and lightning. The box is low and rectangular with attached lid. The interior is covered with white paper. On the inside of the lid is sachet for the instruction manual. There are four compartments for the playing cards. Playing cards (50x82mm) are British. They have standard measurements and gold-on-edge. The cards feature no Chinese characters and graphics but show elaborate pictures that refer to the various activities of The Western Electric Co. N.B. Two of the packages of cards still have their original wrapper and string. The back of the cards show a Western Electric advertisement/mini-poster. There are no counters and dice. Wind indicators are four cards with a different wind vane for every wind. Instruction manual is a small booklet (66x97x1mm). A special edition (1924) for The Western Electric Co. Printed by Thomas de la Rue. There are 4 score cards and a score pad too. And also a business card from Western Electric.
