Box (92x164x26mm) is of American origin. Made of thin cardboard printed with an image of a ‘Mandarin’ against a background of playing cards and the same design on the backside of the cards. The sliding interior has 3 compartments. Left and right for the cards. In the middle for counters and wind indicators. Cards (61x81) are American and have standard measurements. They combine rather common Bamboos and Dots with remarkable quadratic Characters, Winds and Dragons. The season cards show attractive full color pictures of historic Chinese gentlemen and ladies. The backside features an orange red design with an Chinese lantern. There are no spare cards. N.B. In some cases the front of the cards bears an impression of the backside of another card. Counters are strips of orange, pink, light blue an light yellow paper printed with black dominations. They are just about complete. There belong no dice to the set. Wind indicators are made of cardboard printed with quadratic wind characters and Western initials. E-wind was missing and has been replaced.
