Founded in 1948, Ken Thomas Ltd is a well-known privately owned company based in Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire. Operating a nation-wide haulage, storage and distribution service for major customers such as Del Monte, Van Den Bergh Foods and ICI their fleet has grown to 125 vehicles and 118 trailers, producing an annual turnover in excess of £6 million. Researched with the full assistance of Ken Thomas, these scale models are representative of the company’s vehicles of the 1950’s period, the Bedford Boxback and the Commer Dropside when the main livery colour was green. In 1962, following the adoption of ‘Limited’ status the fleet colour changed to red but in 1968 further changes were made back to the present and familiar colours of green, cream and red.
