The Consul was the smaller engineered variant within the Granada range and the name was revived for use on the cheaper models, first produced in 1972. Avaiable in a number of outlandish colours, the most renowned was ‘Daytona Yellow’ which lent itself as obvious choice for Taxis; Swift still use this instantly recognisable colour for their fleet.
