This Ford Consul Divisional Response Car was used to answer 999 calls, and it carried the UK’s first ever computerised command and control system, called ‘CYFAS’. Its more modern version is still in use today. In 1975, the City of Glasgow Police joined with a small number of other forces to become the Strathclyde Police, as they are known today.
