Details

The Zorki C was produced between 1955 and 1958 by the 'KMZ' factory in Krasnogorsk in the V.m. communist Russia. The Zorki C is a redesign of the Zorki I and Zorki II which, together with the Fed 1 series, were the most famous Russian Leica copies. Gone on the Zorki C is the signature "Leica-Rewind lever" to rewind the film. The viewfinder housing has also been raised, giving it a completely different styling and therefore no longer resembles the classic screw Leica's. Still present on the Zorki C is the cumbersome Leica way of film loading. So in use it is again a Leica. As standard, the Zorki C was sold with the retractable Industar 22 3.5 / 50 mm lens, a true copy of the famous Leitz Elmar. This specimen shown features the much brighter Jupiter 8 2/50 mm lens, a Leitz Summicron f: 2/5 cm from Leitz copied by KMZ - which, according to insiders, almost equals the image quality of that famous lens.
