Assendelft. Postcard. The image was taken on the Dorpsstraat near the Roman Catholic Church, seen towards the northeast. The buildings on the right were built as a Roman Catholic Sister School and were directly opposite the Roman Catholic Church. In the 1930s, a wooden club building was erected behind the school for all kinds of meetings. The school function ceased around the 1950s and the building was partly used for catering purposes. Since the 1970s, all this has been known as the Wapen van Assendelft hall complex. The photo was taken around 1900 by photographer Simon Bakker from Zaandijk and processed in his printing house into this postcard.
