Everyone can indicate on this item which item should be removed and why. The item is of course carefully viewed by the Catalog Managers and they ultimately make the decision.

I couldn't find this topic anywhere here, so I'll do it here. Would someone from the administrators 1263281 Delete 100 pigs to Beirut? Nothing has been entered of this item (almost nothing) and there is actually one not allowed and irrelevant image.

I don't know if it should be mentioned here or in the posts about the images, but since I've seen several threads on that, I'll put it here.

Would someone mind removing the third image from this record box ? It is clearly a record that does not belong. Maybe they play the same thing, but that record is from England and not from Germany and the release number is wrong

The box number is the same!

You are correct with the country of origin, that is indeed not W Germany.

Year did you change? why?

There are many examples that cover / box comes from somewhere else and the vinyl

Appointment is Label is leading so indeed country was wrong,

had you can adapt like this

Yes, but you also have to look at the whole picture now. The record box is part of the Beethoven Edition series (can't link now, because I answer with my phone) and I have 3 of them and they all come from Germany. That is also stated on the label, so the wrong record was placed with this box! You can also see at the back of the boxes that it comes from Germany and the release number is shown at the bottom right. And that is not correct either, as I said, in addition to the plates, the box also contains a booklet in 4 languages, which explains that it is 200 years ago that Beethoven died (1777 -1977). I cannot remove incorrect images. I will see if I can add my 3 boxes tonight. I also made the series a bit more complete by doing some research in the CataWiki Catalog and making some changes.

I think Dick is right: The box is made in West Germany, and partly distributed with records made in England (which Meteiz has imported) and partly with records made in West Germany (you have are).

The English record also contains the release number of that box, so no reason to doubt that it was so spread out.

The fact that you have all German versions is not illogical: German versions will then be distributed in the Netherlands.

You can enter yours as a new item.

Funny that with the boxes we use the release number in brackets below the other release number! That is indeed the same as the number on the box and it also says set behind it. Maybe because the original is a German box but used with English plates that the release number is so different. You often see that with records that also appear in a different version (another label, another country or something else). Then the original release number is often printed between brackets. So here it is something different.

Normally labels often use the release number and put an extra number after it with multiple records, such as in this case 2721 131-1, 2721 131-2, etc. What they sometimes do is numbering consecutively, such as 2721 131, 2721 132 , 2721 133, etc. That will then appear in the Catalog as 2721 131-133. Again, I don't see that here.

But the year must really be 1977, since that is also stated in the accompanying booklet. As explained, those boxes were issued on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death and then a record cannot be released in 1970!? Maybe recorded in that year, because I also have that year on my records.

Or the record is from that year, but the box is not. Then the year of the box must be used in that case, right?

I'll see if I can put in my versions (I do the tracks gradually, it's always complicated with classical records) tonight.

It's "very simple," folks.

If an item is a description of a single album, the year is that of the album. If the item is a box with items that in turn all have a record sleeve, then the year the box was released is what must be entered at Year. In that case, a carrier should never be visible for boxes as image 3, at most an overview photo of all items in the box: albums, booklets and the like, or a so-called 'pack shot' of the box.

At Specials, the content of the box can be described exhaustively (please even) and of course comments can be made if it appears that the content of the box is sometimes different. As long as the box (the box / folder or other wrapping) is identical, a separate item will never be created for different content.

The Release number field for a box is always the release number of the box, never of anything from the content.

The agreement is that the release number of the carrier is decisive, so also with a box!

now the problem with these kinds of boxes that are released on the occasion of something is that they often get their own box number.

with this item.

presumably 3 existing albums will be added.

The problem is actually in the amount of scans you can show.

In addition, the individual albums could therefore be put in a catalogue.

and then reference that the items belonged to that box, so link to the box.

This is a simple solution.

Alone and unfortunately that happens regularly that a carrier is packed in a previous cover

(they had already gone through the covers and just put the vinyl in another cover)

In addition, you also have the problem that a carrier was pressed in the Netherlands and a UK cover or German cover was packaged

Under Particulars, the contents of the box can be described exhaustively (please even) and comments can of course be made if it appears that the contents of the box sometimes deviate. As long as the box (the box/folder or other envelope) is identical, a separate item will never be created for deviating content.

you are missing the point here, the carrier is the starting point, not the cover.

I have indicated much earlier that with records, especially albums, we are actually talking about 2 items, cover and carrier, and they are often used interchangeably.

examples

Hi Dick,

Sorry, I've heard by now that not everything I said is commonplace in Music. For example, I encounter such exceptions in various sections and I immediately map them out when I encounter them - as now. But it is where we would like to go: with individual albums everything is described in detail from that album, and with boxes it is described exactly what you can find in such a box. But it is too early to clarify this in more detail. I will definitely come back to it soon.

@ arco,

No point:

but what I said before records or rather distribution companies didn't look that well.

In addition to the fact that sometimes the demand was too great for the country in question.

And for the music that was on an LP (excluding exceptions), it does not matter whether that LP came from Spain or the Netherlands.

And with boxes you are right, the LPs can appear separately or rather be filled with.

In the distant past I have already indicated that 3 scans are actually insufficient.

try to overcome that a bit by placing some other scans or attachments with your own scans.

but a box with a set of 9 LPs, it is difficult to make a scan of 9 LPs in a picture

only for the covers you already have 1m2.

But we'll all get through it.

So actually linking to the already existing separate albums.

Hence my request repeatedly in the consultation to be able to transfer tracks simply 1 to 1.

As DM already indicated with classic, it is a crime (time-consuming) to add tracks correctly.

don't take this album classical or do you? and it is then reasonably filled

So it would be nice if you could transfer this input to the other album (tracks) at once

I just photographed my plates and came up with a sort of interim solution. There are 2 versions of these Beethoven Edition. A 1970 edition and a 1977 edition. The 1970 version is probably the more luxurious version, because it was released in 12 volumes and the record sleeves are all decorated. Unfortunately I don't have extra space to show them, but I will post the link to my online photos (photos taken with my mobile) soon, so that it becomes clear what I mean.

Funny is that the plates have the year 1962 in their matrix code (engraved on the plate). Have they waited so long to publish?

@ Dick52 : Since when have The Beatles been releasing classical music? I think something is going wrong with your links. Of course they are all Beatles classics, but that is different from Classical Music.

Another addition: With the Beethoven Edition 1970 the red record box is completely covered with paper and the title and box name are in white and with the Beethoven Edition 1977 the text is in the image itself. With the 1977 edition there is only a whole picture on the front and a slightly smaller piece of paper on the back, so you can see the red box well.

Again, I will add the 1970 version and then the difference is very clear. In that version (I have number 1) is an extra paper with the announcement of the other parts with images.

Shall we wait for DM to post his item?

@DM

The 1970 version is probably the more luxurious version

That is not possible 77 is a reissue.

Or would it be the case that this box was manufactured for the English, French and Italian markets? and also in 1970?

It is funny that the plates have the year 1962 in their matrix code (engraved on the plate). Did they wait so long before publishing?

Probably will be the original release / recording!

very important in this case is the label!

Also use the scans in your own collection you can place at least 2 extra scans !

The English band ABC has an item from 1976 with the catawiki number 5754821 . This is not possible because ABC was only founded in 1977. After some research I found out that this item is from a Russian quintet called Kvintet ABC. Perhaps by moving you to a new Band called Kvintet ABC or ABC (Russia) or something. Because this is confusing.

You could have done it yourself.

P.S. Unfortunately the Russian alphabet does not work in this section.
