Hello

Iki has a few coins that are listed as silver on cw but they stick to the magnet very hard!

US dollar I imported 1922 as nickel but changed to silver

Mexico 25 pesos 1968 allows book as silver but also sticks to the magnet.

Are my coins incorrect or is the info incorrect?

The Peace dollar from 1922 really should be Silver (0.900) and the 25 Pesos 1968 is also silver (0.720), but I'm not going to draw any conclusions.

According to Krause, they are made of silver. Indeed, the dollar is 90% silver and 10% copper. I don't know the other metal of the 25 pesos. The question still remains, of course, why they are magnetic.

Well then I'm fine with a few counterfeit coins. Glad I don't have to buy them.

I will delete them from my collection.

Thanks for the info

I even went over my silver coins with a magnet. And I can report you are not the only one with this problem. I fished out an American dollar that turned out not to be silver.

At work I still have a pile of Spanish coins with years in the 17/18 and early 19, a hundred look very nice but they all stick to the magnet so they will probably not be real

I don't know much about old Spanish coins, but I think those of 17th and 18th century coins may well be replicas. At the end of the 18th and early 19th century some countries have minted coins with lower denominations in nickel so that could be, but I don't know if this is also the case in Spain
